Many believe that 2022 is already “the year of the DAO.” DAOs are founded on social mechanisms, more so than purely financial apps or NFTs. As such, a budding area of crypto known as Decentralized Social or “DeSo” is starting to emerge.
The trends of “DeSo” in DAO infrastructure is a major application for Sonet. Sonet is an all-in-one Web2/3 middleware service platform providing a direct entry point to applications. We’re an integrator of blockchain services in Data Storage, Data Indexing, GPU Rendering, Oracles, Node Services, etc. Sonet is focused on resolving the communication problems of Web3 by creating bridges for Web3 networks as well as connecting traditional Web2 media platforms and Web3.
Our middleware aggregator enables end users to interact in Web2 using Web3 infrastructure services. This lowers the burden of entry for users who are interested in DAOs and Web3 but are not sure where to start. We are taking the DeSo trend a step further by bridging Web2 and its users to DAOs.
We have already seen others getting in on the DeSo trend in DAOs. One platform called DAODAO claims creating a DAO is as easy as setting up an Instagram account.
DAODAO allows users to “follow” other users and DAOs, and create social content within each DAO similar to a “subreddit.” Investors in DAOs on DAODAO get coins that they can trade on the secondary market, but these coins can also be used to govern the treasury of the DAO with social voting features built natively into the platform.
DAODAO is aiming to take DAOs mainstream by utilizing the DeSo social aspect of DAOs to build engagement.
Sonet’s Web2 extension, Soda, allows users to integrate their existing social networks and NFTs. Soda has currently integrated with Twitter, Facebook and more coming in the near future. DAO users will be able to make governance decisions on their native Web2 socials through the use of our Web2 extension. This allows DAO members to easily vote, make decisions, and interact with their DAO community, with the advantage of using their favorite Web2 social media platforms.
DAOs and their members will have several benefits of Sonet and the Soda extension through the use of governance NFTs. Tokens granting users certain rights regarding their DAO that can be issued, kept, and easily tracked and used through the Soda extension. Additionally, the Soda Market is a marketplace that supports NFT mints with decentralized technology, while transferring through original traditional social networks as communication channels.
Sonet users will still be able to use their favorite Web2 social apps while interacting in Web3. Additionally in support of the middleware platform, we are creating a uniform payment system using our native governance token $Sonet to reconcile payments and fees for end users so that developers can focus on their apps. DAOs that use Sonet for their governance protocols will be able to fully take advantage of this perk. Regardless of a DAO’s purpose or functions, members will be able to connect across previously incompatible metaverses and chains.
